All About Mrs. Sterling

Mrs. Sterling

Hello, My name is Mrs. Julie Sterling, my passion is teaching. I have a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University, an M.S. in Integrating Technology into the Curriculum and Instruction from Walden University, and my ED.S in Brain-Based Teaching with a concentration in Teacher Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. These degrees have advanced my beliefs, theories, and rigor to reach all students in a variety of styles, and intelligence.

My husband and I have been married for twelve years. We were blessed with a little girl in November 2011 named Kennedy. What a Blessing! We have five boys and one girl altogether. Our family loves football, we are Georgia Bulldog Fans and strong supporters. As a family we love playing games, listening to music, taking walks, exploring the world, and reading together. I love all types of technology and love Pinterest.

The Georgia Standards of Excellence (formerly known as Georgia Common Core) is a national set of learning expectations for college and career success. These standards of learning are higher, and testing is rigorous with new writing expectations developed in the testing format. This new standardized testing format has raised the bar for all students. I am a teacher that will provide a vital role in creating environments where students feel safe, learn rigorous knowledge, and skills while cultivating their abilities to reflect, gain self-knowledge, and take ownership of their own learning.

It is my mission and the staff here at New Hope Elementary to build strong relationships with our parents and students to become lifelong learners. This is a milestone in the students' education, and every moment matters in how our students thrive, build, and create new ways to learn.

Henry County School District are dedicated to being the best and reaching all types of learners.

This is going to be an EXCELLENT YEAR!
