HENRY COUNTY, GA – The Henry County Board of Education approved Dr. Bridget Jordan as the new principal of New Hope Elementary School during its May 12 business meeting.

“I am beyond grateful to be entrusted with the opportunity to lead New Hope Elementary and look forward to working alongside the New Hope community to continue its strong tradition of excellence,” Dr. Jordan said.

Dr. Jordan’s appointment follows her tenure at Timber Ridge Elementary School, where she first served as a gifted support teacher, then as an instructional effectiveness facilitator, before becoming assistant principal in January 2024.

Her career in education includes more than 25 years of experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels and extends to teaching and instructional leadership roles.

“Dr. Jordan’s extensive qualifications as an educator and experience facilitating continuous school improvement make her a true asset to New Hope Elementary students, families, staff, and community members,” said Superintendent Dr. John Pace III. “We are grateful for her exemplary service to Henry County Schools and look forward to all that she will accomplish as she seeks to advance a positive school climate for our youngest learners.”

Her extensive educational leadership and instructional development experience complement more than 11 years of study dedicated to teaching and education administration, equipping her for her new role as principal.

Dr. Jordan earned a Bachelor of Science in English education and a Master of Education in gifted and creative education, both from the University of Georgia, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in curriculum and instruction from Mercer University, and a certificate in educational leadership from Columbus State University.

“Dr. Jordan’s strong leadership skills, passion for education, and extensive background as an educator will ensure New Hope Elementary School continues on its path of high academic achievement and arts integration for all students,” said Assistant Superintendent  Kevin Van Tone. “Dr. Jordan is committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all New Hope Elementary School students, and we look forward to the impact she will have on the school community.”

Dr. Jordan will begin her tenure at New Hope Elementary School this summer as she prepares for the start of the 2025-2026 school year, which begins July 31.
